Skillshare and Rideshare Co-design
Indigo Shire Council
Indigo Shire’s ‘Indigo Ageing Well’ project identified a need for township-based programs across the shire that coordinate the sharing of residents’ skills and transport within the communities. The success and ongoing sustainability of both programs was considered more likely if the community feel a sense of ownership in the development and ongoing running of the program models.
Projectura was engaged by Indigo Shire Council to conduct eight co-design workshops; one in each of the main townships. Using a strengths-based approach, the goal was to work with each community to determine an effective and sustainable user-centric model for sharing transport and broader skills.
The program models for Skills Swap and Ride Share provide an opportunity for all residents, including older people to help and learn from each other and feel valued within their community.
